Training for Accredited Landlords

The Cheshire Landlord Accreditation Scheme recognises the importance of landlords having a wide and detailed knowledge of many of the issues relating to letting residential accommodation. Educational development will therefore be an integral part of this Scheme to ensure that landlords fully understand their obligations, not only in a legal sense, but also the more general responsibilities to local communities in which rental properties are situated.

Full day training sessions will be provided for Members throughout the year in a number of locations across Cheshire, alternatively, Members can undertake an on-line training course.

In order to comply with the terms and conditions of the Cheshire Landlord Accreditation Scheme, Accredited Landlords must attend the training course or complete the on-line training within twelve months of membership.

The training course will broadly cover the contents of the ANUK/Lacors Landlords Handbook which is contained in the Membership Pack. Topics will include liabilities under current legislation, tenancy agreements, anti social behaviour management, tenant deposit schemes and legal matters relating to repossession.

The cost of the full day training course is £65.

The on-line training course can be accessed via National Landlords Association or Residential Landlords Association.

Landlords who have attended a similar course in the past three years can claim exemption (evidence required).
